As some may have heard by now, the sister of my friend (and fellow screenwriter) Chloe was one of the 72 people shot in Aurora, CO at the midnight screening of The Dark Knight Rises. Petra was hit with several shotgun pellets including one that traveled through her nasal passage, across her cranium, to the back of her skull.

Surgery was successful and she's on her way to a full recovery. Petra is an accomplished musician and wonderful young lady headed for grad school. If you'd like to read more about her, there are various links to Petra's music and other useful info at

www.indiegogo.com/readytobelieve

including info on how you can help her and other Aurora shooting survivors.

We're doing a Twitter blast right now, this very second, and we'd like this to trend. If you're on Twitter, please tweet the following:

My thoughts and prayers for her and all the others...
I'm glad she's one of the survivors.

It's quite an inspirational story, the miracle of Petra's survival. It's not every day that someone takes a bullet through the brain and yet is on their way to a complete recovery.

For those of you who want to know how to help, you can give even just a couple dollars and it adds up. And post the link above to your Facebook, Twitter, email it, etc.

She's not the one who found out the previously undiagnosed brain tumor is what saved her, is she?

"It's not a tumor!" (Arnold voice)

She had an undiagnosed birth defect, a straw shaped fluid channel in her brain. The bullet traversed her nasal passage and this fluid channel, avoiding brain damage.

Chloe and her mother Kim are on "Rock Center with Brian Williams" tonight on NBC to talk about the shooting and Petra's miraculous survival.

Also tonight, composer John Williams gives a rare interview. So now you have two reasons to tune in!

Here's a peek for those of you west of EST. http://rockcenter.co/N04dei
