I just finished Elephant Bucks by Sheldon Bull and was totally blown away. As many of you know, he co-wrote a screenplay with Blake. He mentions Blake in his book as well. Being a book junkie on craft with zero interest in writing for T.V. -- Elephant Bucks is still one of the best books I’ve read on craft. On my top five list!

Well, since you asked for my top five list it would be:

1. Save the Cat
2. Save the Cat Strikes Back
3. Secrets of Action Screenwriting by William C. Martell *
4. The Blue Books (all) by William C. Martell
5. Elephant Bucks by Sheldon Bull

* Out of print and well worth selling a family member for.

Of course the new Cat book is coming out. I may need a top 6 list!

Cheers,
Martin

$80? I've seen it go, depending on condition, from $300 to $500. However, Elephant Bucks is going for a normal price -- $18.21 on Amazon. Smile

Cheers,
Martin

Elephant Bucks: An Insider's Guide to Writing for TV Sitcoms by Sheldon Bull (Paperback - May 1, 2007)

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=Elephant+Bucks&x=0&y=0

Exactly, it is a term he uses for the kind of money sitcom writers can make.

Cheers,
Martin

Elephant Bucks does belong on the top five list! It's the perfect complement to Save the Cat!
