I know this really has little to do with screenwriting but bear with me for a sec.

I was looking for ways to acquire me a brand spankin' new Mac laptop. A bit of envy has popped up in me since my wife just went through Bill Me Later Dot Com for a new Toshiba laptop and now, the laptop bug has bitten me.

See, in my research, I stumbled upon a site about this quite cute blonde gal in the San Francisco area (think Kristen Bell and you'll see what I mean) that sold ad space (http://leahculver.com/laser-etched-laptop/) on her future Apple MacBook Pro for originally $150 an inch. She got her money, got the Mac and fulfilled her promise to laser etch her baby. What do you guys think? Can it be done again? I'm just a pipe dreamer anyway but this sounded so intriguing and I thought, why not? Comments anyone? Or should I go bury my head in the sand right now? ;P

Not the strangest thing I've heard. No, that would be the parents who sold naming rights to their baby.

I've also heard of people selling tattoo space on their bodies to advertise whatever.

Comparitively speaking, etching your laptop? Pfft.

Cool, then another of many projects soon to be unfinished is born! Smile Thanks for the pep talk, dad! ;P Now, let's see... who can I beg from first. I'll have more to add to this this afternoon once the sheen has worn off and I come to my senses. XP

Hey gang! I just wanted to update you all on this little project. Seems it has grown larger than I'd originally planned or hoped for. See, here's the thing...

I found out about the San Fran gal with the laptop wish. I also found a gal I'd almost forgotten about named Karyn with $20,000 worth of CC debt. Well, now, here's the brief side of my story. I'll elaborate soon. I've decided to raise... [drum roll please] $10,000 to cover not only the cost of a new MacBook Pro but also what I'm sure will end up being at least $5000-7000 in dental bills. I haven't gone yet but if it looks as though this will become something big, I'll get in as soon as the dough starts rolling in.

Like I said, I'll elaborate soon. I need some sleep. I want to share with you all my first teaser trailer for the actual movie I'm doing to showcase my "cause" and having me explain it, bad teeth and all. Spielberg, eat your heart out!

BTW, what keywords /tags would you guys use for videos like this? So far, I have...

funny homemade help me raise money Apple laptop dental work Final Draft eyeglasses

...and I have 31 views so far so who knows if this thing will take off. Anyone willing to help out with a few ideas? And, BTW, I'm juggling this with my podcasts, blogs, AND my outline, so don't worry, my worrywarts. I'm still on the [screenwriting] job! Smile

Well, here we go. I wanted to update you all on my endeavors with the fund raising. Turns out I've having to take another route... and this one may be a bit lengthy. I've shown these videos (now on YouTube, soon at Vimeo and Funny or Die dot com) to a few folks, including a couple here on the forum and I really would like to share them with you guys.

I know I need to be writing right now but I'm feeling more inspired by this and I know my writing muse will return soon enough. I'm feeling really creative and I think doing these videos wil help me out in the long run. So, if curious, please check these out and please rate, comment and subscribe, if you don't mind... yeah, I know I'm a whore. ;/ Very Happy Thanks y'all!
