Good one, "or what?" Maybe, considering today's date, it was carrying a Godzilla-esque egg that hatched and destroyed the ship, unleashing an eastern version cousin of the Loch Ness moster.

Maybe enriched uranium and a spy -- or the Justice League -- , sank it to the sea floor.

Maybe the Allspark.... and there's a submarine transformer, Optimus Mare.

Maybe zombies from a bazillion years ago oozed out of the ore and ate the crew.

Probably, sank in a storm and maybe a sequel to "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald".
