Everyone, I'd like to introduce our newest member to the discussion board:

Peter Burger.

Blake mentioned our Save the Cat group to Peter, who is a screenwriter in NYC. He just finished his first script and is working on his second.

Let's all make him feel welcome as we start to slowly open the board to others trying to "Save the Cat" and get their screenplays sold!

John, thanks for the intro. Everyone, I'm a marketing and communications writer working on my second screenplay, a screwball sports comedy, for lack of a better term right now. I'm in the research stage at the moment and look forward to meeting others in the group before unveiling the logline.
Best,
Peter Burger

NO! NO! NO!

It's a "dude with a problem" or a "Golden Fleece" or a "Buddy Love", etc.

Where in "Save the Cat" does it say screwball sports comedy??? Go back and read chapter two... NOW! Wink Wink Wink

Honestly, you should stop and think about "What is it" using Blake's terms. The minute I stopped thinking about my script as an 'action/adventure' and started looking at it as a "Golden Fleece" it became a lot clearer.

Granted, my script is a "Golden Fleece" sort of masquerading as a "Monster in the House" but, still- Well, uh...

OK. Maybe I need to go read chapter two again as well. Laughing

Welcome aboard, Peter. Happy to have a new member, and looking forward to seeing your logline(s). In the meantime, jump right in--looking forward to your input, too.

(The Kool Aid's good. Try it.)

Peter,

I moved your logline to the "Titles & Logline" section so more people would hopefully see it and comment.

Also, I wanted to see if I could do it. Razz

Hope you don't mind.
