And to think I read down and didn't even catch "witless". I read it and thought witness. TWICE. It was only the third time that I saw it for what it was. Thanks again Tim.
I hate to say this, but can you tell me what idea you pitched (i have a tough time with names). Was it the justice system one or true life story sports one.

you're welcome Prashanth, I'm glad you liked it....
I'm sorry to say I was the guy who bailed out Saturday morning with a bad case of bronchitis....
I did mention a few scripts I've finished, and 3 of the screenplays were true sports stories....The loglines are posted on the board...
After reading Blake's book I've said I feel like I told "A" story, but I don't know if I've told "THE" story....the stories are true and compelling, but I'm not sure the stakes are high enough....
take a look at the loglines and let me know your thoughts...
Tim

Okay, so I've maneuvered around the site a bit and feel a litte bit more comfortable seeing where everything is. I promised I'd post something I'd written to John A about my recent experience writing my script.
So, here it goes.
John, thanks for your reply. It's safe to say the beat sheet has changed my life as far as codifying the whole process.
To answer your question about how long it took to write...pull up a chair, my friend.
Sun Storm is a high concept Dude with a Problem Story that I've been trying to execute properly for three years, since 2004.
In short, after 17 drafts, I would get positive reviews on the "idea" of the story, but wouldn't get past "semi-finals" in any competitions or any notices at all. Plus, I was still confused in my own head what the main conflict was (so was the audience).
After the beat sheet class and then master class, I wrote up a 4 and half page outline. It was crisp and clear.
I wrote the whole script in 8 days. 114 pages in 8 days.
I've lived in Los Angeles only two years now. That whole time, I spent locked in a room trying to get the monkey that was Sun Storm off my back.
This past Saturday was the first day that I went to the beach. I sat in traffic 1.5 hours to get there. I didn't care. Not a peep from me, behind the wheel, my car needlessly idling. My girlfriend said I am a changed man.
