Terris checking in. Nice job getting the board up so quickly, John. Not to get too sappy, but I hope we'll be able to keep connected via this board because working with/in this group was a great experience for me.

Looking forward to it.

Terris,

Not sappy at all. I know what you mean. This weekend was great and on the car ride home I had all sorts of ideas I wanted to share with the group.

Hoping we can all use this board to push each other forward.

greetings, gents. j.j., thanks for setting this up.

thinking of the ransom of red chief dog idea:

a particularly insane girlfriend of mine, when she was dating a friend of mine before the Rubin era, actually once stole a beautiful white dog from a bar out of sympathy. it was in a bar, and the owner had left it leashed to his barstool while he went to the can. it turned out the dog was literally half-wolf! it ate my buddy right out of the apartment--literaly ate his clothes, their furniture, everything. but she loved the damned dog/wolf so much--and she surmised that he was lonely--so she gave boyfriend an ultimatum: he needs a mate, if you don't get wolf a mate, i'm cutting you off. because it's apparently illegal to even have dog/wolves, the poor guy had to mail-order one from a foreign country! the 2 wolves hated each other, and really tore up the joint. finally they had to track down the owner and confess their sin, it was very red chiefish indeed!

hey guys!

i had a fantastic weekend too. i really didn't think i was going to walk away with a title and logline; be taught by a working professional who actually cares about a newbie's success; and meeting some really cool people.

but i did! i have to admit it, though, the intensity of the workshop was a bit overwhelming for a newbie like me, and i was trying to stay focused, so please excuse me if i wasn't too social during the breaks.

i'm trying to get all of my 15 beats down right now, and boy it's hard! but you know, nothing worth doing well is easy. anyway, i look forward to getting involved with this forum; and maybe if our schedules permit it we can form our own live group as well.

all the best,

-nick

Just looked at Blake's schedule at savethecat.com site and realized his visit to NYC has to be April 14-15 since he's booked every other weekend in April!

That gives us a month to get our beats and ideas in shape! Shocked

I'm here. Sorry it's taken me a while to get on the board. Don't know about you slackers, but I just finished my 40 scenes and am going to start writing my treatment.

My idea was "the worst witness protection program. Ever" Still looking for a title.

I was wondering if people can introduce their idea from the seminar when they post for the first time. I don't remember everyone's names or user names but i sure remember all your faces and movies. It helps connect a little more when I know who is responding.

Nick here..and my logline is: "an iraq war veteran returns home to nyc with bio-weapon, doesn't know it's inside him, and when he finds out he has only 36 hours before it explodes."

Still polishing up my 15 beats...

Oh, and John I've noticed I'm a Cub. Is that because I'm a newbie? LOL!

Cub = 5 posts
Cat = 10 posts

That is for now... It may change at my whim. Muwa-ha hah! (What is the spelling for an evil laugh?) Twisted Evil

So one more post Nick and you are a cat... For now! Muaw-ah-ah! (no, that it isn't it either.) Evil or Very Mad

PostPosted: Fri Mar 16, 2007 2:38 pm    Post subject: Possible Titles For Witness Protection Script Reply with quote

Prashanth,

how about these possible titles:

WitLESS Protection
or

DIE WITNESS

maybe the poster could be a picture of a guy dressed in a conservative business suit (short haircut; an FBI look about him) and he has an anguished look on his face. In the background is an exploded house (or maybe a car) on fire with smoke billowing in the sky.

The Tagline could be something like:

When This Agency Guards You, Have Your Affairs In Order!

I hope this helps...

Tim
