| New Moon or The Blind Side? I'm hoping for an upset here just to prove that teens and twenty somethings aren't the only folks who go to see movies.

Alas, my bet is Mike is right. It it is show Business. It will be fun to see what the numbers tell us.
Cheers,

| That was a good one, Ralph. Even in these dark times, you've managed to make me laugh.

yep, sad but true fact: teens and twenty-somethings are not the only ones who go see movies, but they are usually the ones to see the same movie 4 times a day, for 3 or 4 days straight to inflate the box-office take for that flavor-of-the-month
and, sadly, Sandra Bullock is 40 now, so no longer the draw she was when she was 20-something herself...
but, on the bright side, I'm also 40, single and always looking for love in all the wrong places, and Sandra is married to crazy Jesse 'Is a Dead Man' James.
so, if everything goes bad for Sandra and Jesse, and if Jennifer Aniston insists on not accepting or responding to my e-mail pleas, I'll be ready for ya, Miss Congeniality!

Alright. New Moon is not only decimating the competition, but setting a new opening night record. Vampires suck!
Still The Blind Side is a solid number two with an $11 million opening night. I know NM brought in nearly $73 million, but hey it’s a different audience.
I took the family to see it last night and we all loved this positive, uplifting movie. Very definitely worth the two hour eight minute investment. Sandra Bullock gives a tremendous performance, not Oscar worthy IMO, but still flawless.
Went to see a matinee, but it was sold out so I bought tickets for the next showing. Before the previews the manager came into the theater and announced the show was sold out and asked everyone to fill in the empty seats. I checked out the boards at imdb where there’s a discussion about attendance for the film. There are similar reports from around the country.
Cut to after the movie and my sniffling wife with mascara streaked eyes is facebooking about The Blind Side. Not surprisingly many of her friends have left their positive comments as well. That’s all said to say that I think word of mouth will keep this film in the top ten through the end of the year drawing a demographic to the theater that rarely comes out.
From a writing standpoint it is a tightly constructed, well balanced story, with many great lines and bits that drew laughs from the audience. I wouldn’t have changed a thing.
Anyone else see it?

At least on Thanksgiving Day The Blind Side topped New Moon.

Yay for THE BLIND SIDE!
Ralph, I saw it and loved it, too!
Sandra is one of my favorite actresses, so I had to see it.
I didn't get to read the script before I saw it, but I'd love to read it soon.
I'm so happy it's doing great at the box office in spite of the powerhouse NEW MOON.
Woohoo!
Hugs!
