Just back form L.A. and here’s what I learned. Quick background…I lived there years ago and after that up until my daughter was born I was going 3 to 4 times a year. I have not been back until this week in 3 years.

What’s the same: EVERYONE is looking for a terrific ROM-COM. If you can really pull one off -- you’re in like Flynn.

What’s different I sort of knew: Writers who were working in film who would have looked at you in horror (and wanted to physically assault you) if you brought up TV...are working in TV.

What’s different I didn’t know: The extent that writers are getting breaks with Major Studios co-creating original Internet programming. I don’t know what this means for the future of movies if anything…or if it even interests me, but people are working.

Cheers,
Martin

I wonder if the internet content really will take off, like a lot of people are predicting. Is there any place out there that list what type of internet shows are being done or airing?

Hey Don:

That’s a great question. If it does not exist, someone could start a site that’s a TV guide to Web programming…though I would think that’s a HUGE job and getting bigger every day. This site has a giant guide (all though much of it is called Web TV). But there is a lot here:

Here are some I happen to know about. Owned by Turner Broadcasting System…as noted on the bottom of the home-page:

The Jim Henson Company is developing shows for the Web. They are doing some of that in partnership with major film studios.

I don’t have a link, but USA Today (Newspapers) is starting up and making deals to produce entertainment internet programming.

Cheers,
Martin
