If individual threads are available in the usergroup, then an author posts 5 - 10 pages in the thread, allowing readers to comment/reply to the individual thread over a two week period. Then there can actually be some back/forth between the author and the readers to address potential areas of confusion.
A different thread is started for each submission, keeping them all separated.
But whatever is decided, I'm cool with.
Thanks! |
Yeah, that might work better. I'll have to see if individual threads can happen. Let me look at usergroups over the weekend when i can steal a few minutes and see what can and cant be done.
(Also, Just so you know, I'm swamped with work so I'm not planning on moderating this or posting much, just setting it up. I trust everyone will "play nice" and keep it professional and civil. _________________ "There's only one kind of woman...or man, for that matter. I think we can do that, John.
I like Thor's way of setting it up, or even just like the Loglines section is fine, too, if it can be done. I've been in a writer's group where the author was "locked out" until everyone had their say, and found it extremely frustrating, both for myself and for other writers. By the time a writer got a chance to address his own story nobody wanted to talk about it anymore. It felt like the writing had been done by committee, which really sucked all the enthusiasm out of it.
I like the idea of a two-week deadline, too. Usually all I want in a rough draft stage is a quick "yes or no, this is or isn't working."
